Children & Youth

 Our Children's Ministry Includes:

  • Acolyte Program allows for older children to assist in the worship service by lighting the candles.
  • Children's Message is presented each Sunday morning.
  • Easter Egg Hunt is an annual event.
  • Vacation Bible School is held during the summer.

Nursery can be available for infants through four years of age during the Worship Service. Children’s Church has been provided half way through the worship service for older children who want to attend.

All Lessons taught are Bible Based and Children's Bible stories are read for a youthful understanding of God's word.  Videos are used to bring the Bible stories to life.  Games are used to help remember Bible verses and to teach taking turns, and special events are scheduled especially for children.

Each spring, the Church sponsors a T-Ball team of boys and girls who play on the Adams Township ball fields. Once during the season, we have hot dogs, chips and drinks available for the teams and for anyone else who is hungry. An ice cream social is also enjoyed by the teams and all those who love ice cream. The church members attend the games and cheer our players on during the games.

Safe Sanctuaries.

All persons working in any staff or volunteer ministry at the Valencia United Methodist Church are required to attend Safe Sanctuary Training. This includes, but is not limited to, the Staff, Sunday school teachers, Nursery and Children’s Church volunteers, Ushers and Greeters, and Vacation Bible School leaders and helpers.

The older children have made trips to Wesley Woods, Kennywood, Splash Lagoon and to the local ice cream stands. Being so close to Cranberry, there are limitless activities for children and youth in our Church.

As the youth mature, it is the Church’s desire to nurture them in becoming confirmed.  To learn more about confirmation, click here.
